PURPOSE: Provided is a process for producing cis-cyclohexanediol in a high yield and a high purity by a selective hydrogenation of benzenediol and a crystallization-separation method. CONSTITUTION: The process for producing the cis-cyclohexanediol comprises the steps of: obtaining cyclohexanediol having cis isomers in the high ratio by continuously hydrogenating the benzenediol, dissolved in a solvent, at a temperature of 30-150deg.C under a pressure of 5-150kg/cm2 in the presence of a catalyst made by supporting ruthenium to a weak basic support; producing the cis-cyclohexanediol selectively by cool-crystallizing the cyclohexanediol by using a solvent such as methanol, ethanol, 1-propanol, acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, diethyl ketone, diethyl ether and etc.
