Method to transfer high priority programms and data in a communications system

In the event of a failure of peripheral devices of a communications system, maintenance processes must be immediately started for error analysis and error location. This entails the risk, particularly in times of high switching traffic - this is at times in which the capacities and transmission paths in the communications system are loaded up to the capacity limit -, that due to their higher priority, the maintenance processes will displace the switching processes in their time sequence. In practice, this would mean that new connection requests cannot be set up in some cases. The method according to the invention provides a remedy in that it is ensured that the maintenance process can supply the failed peripheral units even in times of high switching traffic without having to intervene in the time sequence of the switching processes while doing so.
