A vacuum container to preserve food. The vacuum container includes a cover member 10, 110 for covering an upper part of a container member 200 in which food is filled, a piston member 20, 150 being equipped with the cover member 10, 110 to be ascending and descending movable, and a first valve member 40, 120 and a second valve member 70, 170 that alternately operate by a pumping operation using an ascending and descending operation of the piston member 20, 150 that makes a suction aperture 31, 113 and an exhaust aperture 21, 152 opened and closed alternately, to thus discharge air filled in the container member 200 to the outside. Such operation allows the interior of the container member to become a vacuum state, thereby food filled in the container member 200 can be preserved for a longer time period, more sanitarily, and a simple manufacture and a low manufacturing cost provides users with convenience.
