PURPOSE: An air bearing slider of a disk drive is provided to form a bottom surface of negative pressure forming packets in the same height as an upper surface of the first rail base, and to make the negative pressure forming pockets longer in a longitudinal direction of side rails, thereby minimizing deterioration of a flying height of the slider. CONSTITUTION: A slider body(110) has a disk opposite surface opposite to a disk. The first rail base(120) is protruded in a U shape open toward a rear section of the slider body(110) from the disk opposite surface. The first positive pressure forming rail portion(150) is protruded from the first rail base(120), and consists of a cross rail(151) extended in the first direction and one pair of side rails(152) extended in the second direction parallel to an inflow direction of the air. A negative pressure cavity(140) is defined by the first rail base(120). The second rail base(130) is protruded from the disk opposite surface. The second positive pressure forming rail portion(160) is protruded from the second rail base(130). Negative pressure forming pockets(180) are spaced from the negative pressure cavity(140), and are open outside the side rails(152).
