PURPOSE: A fiber-coupled light-emitting diode light source and a projection display system using the light source are provided to prevent deterioration of characteristics due to heat generated from the light source and increase optical power. CONSTITUTION: A fiber-coupled light-emitting diode light source includes a heat sink(100), light-emitting diodes(121,122,123,124), a fiber jig(150), and a plurality of optical fibers(171,172,173,174). A plurality of cups(111,112,113,114) are formed on one side of the heat sink at a predetermined interval. The light-emitting diodes are respectively mounted in the cups. The fiber jig includes a plurality of openings(151) and is attached to the heat sink such that the openings respectively correspond to the cups. The optical fibers are respectively inserted into the openings of the fiber jig to be optically aligned with the light-emitting diodes.
