<p>This invention relates to electrode industry. The electro-calcination furnace is intended for curing bulk carbon materials, for instance, anthracite, through passing electric current. The furnace has cylindrical shaft, its lining has a circular boss, the upper and the lower electrodes, the loading and unloading units. The circular boss comprises separate sectors of circle forming the whole opening. The diameter of the opening is 0.25-0.6 of the inner diameter of the lining of the furnace. The surface of each section of the boss turned to the upper electrode comprises horizontal and inclined parts, the angle of inclination of this one to horizon is 2-10 degrees smaller than the friction angle of anthracite with respect to the material of the boss. The furnace improves the quality of the bulk carbon material by the showings of the specific electric resistance, it promotes economy of electric energy and has increased reliability of operation.</p> |
