The brake unit has a brake module fixed in suspension to a bogie by suspension pads and two braking force generators (2,4) activating block brakes in opposite direction, respectively associated to varied axles (34,36). The generators have a wear adjusting device including a regulating mechanism to modify the distance between the block brakes and a surface of associated braking of wheels.
