The bed grid (1) as a base supporting a mattress comprsies several parallel, adjacent, pliable-elastic, cross rails (5) supported by two longitudinal rails (3). The cross rails are joined to one another by two bands (7). The two outer cross rails are releasably fixed to the end areas of the longitudinal rails. The cross rails are jonied to the bands in point or line formation or can be by maens of clamps or nails. All cross rails, with the execution of the two outermost, locate loosely on the longitudinal rails. The two outermost cross rails are firmly held on the ends of the longitudinal rails by bolts and/or by small straps.
