PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a helium gas purifier of high performance capable of preventing the secondary closure in a helium gas circulating system comprising a closing valve for automatically closing an output part from the purifier when a gas in a comparatively small volume is expanded and its flow rate is suddenly increased, in heating the purifier. SOLUTION: This helium gas purifier of high performance is used for a liquid helium reliquefying device, and is composed of a purifier main body 1 for introducing a helium gas of high temperature (about 300K) and gradually cooling the gas, and a solidifying part 14 mounted continuously from the purifier main body for solidifying (freezing) contaminants such as nitrogen and oxygen, and the closing valve 19 for closing an outflow passage, is mounted on a helium gas outflow passage 17 from the solidifying part.
