PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve image recording of a received image file by a recording method corresponding to its color space. SOLUTION: A record size is registered previously for a JPEG encoded file on an sYCC color space and when the color space information of an image file transmitted from a transmission side apparatus according to a previous procedure represents the JPEG encoded file on the sYCC color space (S32), the received image file is recorded with a registered record size (S38).
