PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser vibrometer capable of attaining actual time vibration measurement of a measuring object without adjustment, with ultra-high sensitivity, and without requiring at all a device for extracting a vibration signal such as an optical interferometer. SOLUTION: This laser vibrometer is equipped with a photodetector, a frequency modulated wave demodulator and a signal processing device for allowing a part of output light emitted from a laser oscillator to pass a light frequency shifter and to enter the measuring object, and measuring vibration of the measuring object from a modulated waveform of a laser output induced by interference between return light from the measuring object and the output light.
