PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle body rear part structure capable of increasing the strength of a rear side member without increasing the thickness of a plate or adding a reinforcing member. SOLUTION: The rear side member 2 connected to a rear end part of a side sill 1 is arranged while being offset to the inner side of the vehicle width direction with respect to the side sill 1, the bottom surface 2b of the front end part of the rear side member 2 is lowered in order to increase the height directional cross section area, and thereby the strength along the vertical direction is particularly enhanced, and bending deformation with respect to bending moment M1 to the upper part acting on the rear side member 2 by input of load F is restrained.
