PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively remove a scale in a roller leveler. SOLUTION: The method for removing the scale in the roller leveler 1 is so constituted that the scale, which is peeled off from the surface of a material to be straightened in a roller leveler straightening process, is removed by generating the fluid flow in the roll barrel length direction between the straightening rolls 2, 3 in the preceding and succeeding straightening directions. The fluid is injected from nozzles 5 arranged between the preceding and succeeding straightening rolls 2, 3 by being directed from the halfway part of the straightening roll barrel length to one side in the roll barrel length direction, and nozzles 5 arranged by being directed from the halfway part of the straightening roll barrel length to the other side in the roll barrel length direction.
