PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for disposal of garbage which enable the attachment of a garbage disposal material to the inner wall surface of a disposal tank and the clogging of a filter to be prevented by using an inexpensive and easily available substance as the garbage disposal material. SOLUTION: The apparatus for disposal of garbage is provided with the disposal tank 2 into which the garbage disposal material and the garbage are charged, heat exchangers 9a, 9b for heating the disposal tank 2 and the filter for removing the dust contained in the exhaust gas from the disposal tank 2. Before this apparatus is started, mixed rice bran of non-defatted rice bran with defatted rice bran is charged initially into the disposal tank 2 as the garbage disposal material.
