<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clock system for automobiles which enables a person to confirm the time without averting his/her eyes from the front of a vehicle even during driving. <P>SOLUTION: The system comprises a controlling part 3 which controls the entire clock system, a microphone 1 which picks up speech uttered by humans, a speech recognizing part 2 which receives a signal output from the microphone 1, a speech synthesizing part 4 which speech-synthesizes time information, a speaker 5 which outputs the synthesized speech based on the speech synthesizing signal output from the speech synthesizing part 4, a car speed sensor 6 which detects the car speed, and a clock 7. The system comprises, as time display parts which display the time of the clock 7, a driver's seat side time display part 7b and an assistant's seat side time display part 7c. When the car speed detected by the car speed sensor 6 is not less than a set value, the controlling part 3 controls the display of the driver's seat side time display part 7b into non-display, and outputs the time information into the sound synthesizing part 4 based on a time confirming signal from the speech recognizing part 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
