PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system by which an amount of information for providing a guidance on a natural feature is reduced. SOLUTION: A natural feature guiding information for providing the guidance on the natural feature has a data structure where intrinsic information specifying a natural feature position and a guidance position respectively is associated with mesh intrinsic information relating to a sub-area composed of areas each of which includes at most one of the natural feature position and the guidance position in order to specify the positions. When it is recognized that a vehicle reaches a position indicated by the mesh intrinsic information of the guidance position with respect to a current position of the vehicle, a guidance on the natural feature corresponding to the guidance position is provided. Thus, the amount of information, loads for sending, receiving and processing data can be largely reduced in comparison with such a method that coordinates are used for representing the natural feature position and the guidance position of the feature guiding information, and a good navigation system can be provided.
