PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an integrated series regulator capable of operating an overheat protection function without an abrupt decrease of the output voltage with no signs and protecting overheat without exerting harmful influence on a mounted substrate due to temperature. SOLUTION: This series regulator comprises an output transistor Tr1 connected between an input terminal 1 and an output terminal 2 in series for controlling an output voltage Vo, a comparator Amp comparing a partial pressure formed by dividing the output voltage Vo and a reference voltage Vref and inverting/amplifying the difference, and an IC chip 10 connected to a control terminal of the output transistor Tr1 and having a control circuit formed for controlling the output transistor Tr1 according to the output of the comparator Amp. A temperature detection circuit 4 detecting the temperature of the IC chip 10 and a reset output circuit 5 outputting a reset signal when the temperature detected by the temperature detection circuit 4 exceeds a predetermined temperature are installed inside the IC chip 10.
