PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an induction motor in which loss does not increase even if the temperature rises. SOLUTION: The induction motor comprises a stator 1 generating a rotating field, and a rotor 3 generating a running torque through interaction with the rotating field. The rotor 3 comprises a plurality of bars 10 arranged in a plurality of rotor grooves 9 made in the rotor 3, and an end ring 11 interconnecting the plurality of bars 10. Furthermore, the bar 10 and the end ring 11 have an inner cavity filled with an electrically conductive electrolyte 12 exhibiting negative resistance to the temperature. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
