摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method for suppressing factors such as "texture", "worm", and "seep-together", which occur due to error diffusion and degrade image quality, and minimizing the effect of noise superimposed on an image. SOLUTION: When input n-value image data are converted into m-value image data (2≤m<n) to form a pseudo half-tone image by applying error diffusion processing, a quantization error accumulated by former error diffusion is added to the inputted n-value image data. In addition, positive noise is generated, and the negative of the noise is also determined. The noise of which the negative is determined is further added to the n-value image data to which the quantization error is added. The n-value image data to which the noise has been added is made to have a m-value. The m-value data that is made to have the m-value is dequantized to a quantization representative value. The obtained quantization representative value is subtracted from the n-value image data added with the quantization error to generate a quantization error.
