PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid a discontinuity caused by bending and stretching a cable between an image reader and an optical unit, staining on a glass surface caused by the cable rubbing against a platen glass, and the generation of a noise emitted from the cable. SOLUTION: Both the image reader and the optical unit have each radio communication unit.
