<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information acquiring apparatus capable of surely updating provided information without troubling a user, and a technique regarding this apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: If a vehicle is positioned at a predetermined place, a time is within a predetermined time band, and the voltage of an RSSI signal is larger than a voltage threshold when an ignition SW 20 of the vehicle is turned off; an information processing section 118 of an on-vehicle apparatus 11 transmits an information profile to an information management server 13 (S10-S60). Upon receiving the corresponding data from the server 13, the section 118 updates storage contents of a provided information storage section 116 by the received corresponding data and then turns off a standby power source 117 to stop the apparatus 11 (S70-S120).
