<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method which permits a high transfer efficiency of toner, causes no fogging of toner and can correspond to a cleanerless process too, in an image forming method using an AC contact charging process used with a contact charging magnetic brush. <P>SOLUTION: Carriers contain at least binder resin and magnetic metal oxide particles and satisfy inequation (1): -6.0 R+300≤M≤-3.0 R+350, 5≤R≤30 (1).
