<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external preparation for skin and a food excellent in anti-pruritus effect and effective in relief of strong itching feeling of the skin in patients having atopic dermatitis and senile xerosis and patients receiving artificial dialysis treatment, free from adverse effect by continuous use and excellent also in safety. <P>SOLUTION: The anti-pruritus agent comprises bittern as an active ingredient.
