HIGH STRESS RESISTANT OPTICAL FIBER

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high stress resistant optical fiber having an excellent bending characteristic.

SOLUTION: A W type refraction distribution structure is formed by disposing a side core 2 having the refractive index smaller than that of a center core 1 so as to enclose the circumference of the center core 1 positioned at a central axis and disposing a clad 3 having the refractive index smaller than that of the center core 1 and greater than that of the side core 2 so as to enclose the circumference of the side core 2. The effective cross-sectional area is confined from 110 to 180μm2and an even number of pieces of≥4 vacancies 6 existing axisymmetrically at every equal circumference around the central axis are formed.
