PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid automatic focusing adjustment on a lens device side in a no signal condition and to appropriately conduct the focusing adjustment for a lens device which is mounted on a camera device in an attachable and detachable manner. SOLUTION: In the lens device, automatic and manual control of focusing adjustment is manually switched. On the lens device side, synchronization signals are extracted from video signals which are outputted from the camera device. The synchronization signals are inspected and focusing adjustment is conducted by selecting one of the automatic control and the manual control in accordance with the inspection result.
