PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly switch display even when guiding a route using a plurality of different maps. SOLUTION: In this navigation system provided with a storage means for storing map information paired with a road network data and a map data, a display means, a retrieval means for retrieving the route based on the road network data, a route storage means for storing the route retrieved by the road retrieval means, a route display means for superposing the retrieved route on the map data to display the route, and a switching means for instructing display switching to the map data of the map information different from the map information stored in the route storage means, the route display means superposes the route stored in the route storage means on the map switch-instructed by the switching means without changing the route, when instructed to switch the map data by the switching means, and displays the route.
