PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an organic-inorganic hybrid film having excellent heat-resistance and composed of a hydrolyzed polycondensation product of an organic polymer and a metal alkoxide, having high transmittance and low haze value, getting stable optical properties and having long pot life and high film-forming speed. SOLUTION: The method for the production of an organic-inorganic hybrid film composed of a hydrolyzed polycondensation product of an organic polymer and a metal alkoxide by the solvent casting of the polycondensation product contains a step to heat a solution dissolving the hydrolyzed polycondensation product of the organic polymer and the metal alkoxide in a closed vessel at or above the boiling point of the solvent.
