PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sustained-release oral preparation containing a benzyl alcohol derivative. SOLUTION: The sustained-release oral preparation is prepared by coating a core substance containing optically active (-)-(R)-α-[(tert-butylamino)methyl]-2-chloro-4-hydroxybenzyl alcohol or a pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof with a sustained-release control film-forming additive comprising an insoluble polymer, talc, and an ester. This preparation has release properties desirable for a medicine that slowly releases a drug over a long time and is useful as a uterus relaxant or a bladder relaxant. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
