PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cope with the case where there is no attached detecting means for an operating position required for controlling an hydraulic driven actuator or with a trouble thereof. SOLUTION: This driving mechanism comprises a means 20 for detecting operating pressure in the actuator 10, a means (a memory for an ECU) for presetting the characteristics of the operating pressure associated with the normal operation of the actuator, means S1-S3, S5 and S6, S8 for determining a troubled condition from a detection signal for the operating pressure, the set characteristics of the operating pressure and a detection signal for the operating position, and a means S7 as a backup means for identifying the operating position of the actuator 10 from the set characteristics of the operating pressure in accordance with the detection signal for the operating pressure when the trouble of the detecting means for the operating position is found from a determination result.
