PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrochromic display capable of reducing crosstalks while achieving cost reduction and high resolution. SOLUTION: The spreading electric field to an adjacent electrode is prevented by providing a separator having a large number of through holes between upper and lower substrates and filling the through holes in the separator with an electrolyte. As a method for manufacturing the structure, a method for curing a resin material in a perforated state of the raw material of the separator, a photolithography method, a patterning method e.g. a screen printing method, an ink jet method, etc. and the like are used.
