PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a concentrated-winding stator coil for a rotary electric machine wherein the resistance loss of a stator coil is low, contact with a rotor is avoided, and high-density winding that does not interfere with rotor insertion work can be implemented. SOLUTION: The concentrated-winding stator coil comprises a second-layer coil 22 which is constituted by winding a wire in succession on a first-layer coil 21 which has turns disposed in the same layer and advances from bases to tips of teeth. The second-layer coil 22 has turns which begin with a start turn 220 folded back from a last turn 210 of the first-layer coil 21, disposed in the same layer and advances starting from the tips to the bases of the teeth 11.
