PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously reproduce video data recorded on a disk. SOLUTION: A CPU section 92 analyzes the contents of an EPL and retrieves history which includes the order of reproducing of the data, that are stored in an auxiliary storage device 35 and reproduced in the past, and information that indicates whether the data are continuously reproducible or not. When the section 92 detects a part at which reproducing of the data becomes discontinuous as a result of the retrieval, the section 92 copies the data, which become discontinuous, into the device 35. A user displays the history on a personal computer 23 and conducts editing in accordance with the user's needs. The above is applicable to an optical disk device. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
