PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve the printing precision by outputting fire signal in exact timing, and to make data table of ROM unnecessary. SOLUTION: Binary signal c outputted from counter 2 is parallel inputted as an address signal. Delay parameter d is logically calculated according to the travel speed of the carrier based on this address signal. Logic circuit 3 which sets this parameter to delay circuit 5 is set up. Logic circuit 3 calculates delay parameter d so that the faster the travel speed of the carrier gets, the smaller the delay width of fire signal f gets, and that the slower the travel speed of the carrier gets, the bigger the delay width of fire signal f gets. Based on delay parameter d set up by logic circuit 3, delay circuit 5 delays fire signal f from fire timing circuit 4 only by the specified timing, and outputs it to print head driver 6.
