PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a capacity of a memory by suppressing occurrence of a texture in an interface between an image region and a border region when a multi-format image is printed. SOLUTION: This method of processing an image is used when an image including an image region represented by an intermediate tone and a border region out side of the image region by depositing a plurality of inks on a recording medium by an inkjet head. The method has an ejection pattern generating process for generating an ejection pattern of ink for representing each of pixels forming the image by a plurality of ink dots. In this ejection pattern generating process, generation processes 202-204 for the ink ejection pattern corresponding to the image region in one screen of image to be recorded and a generation process 205 for the ink ejection pattern corresponding to the border region outside of the image region are independently carried out.
