PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing homopolymers or copolymers of PVDF, capable of producing PVDF much excellent in thermal stability without decreasing productivity, by radical polymerization of vinylidenefluoride (VDF) with a comonomer as an optional ingredient. SOLUTION: The method comprises radical polymerization in an aqueous dispersion in the presence of HFA161 (CH<SB>3</SB>-CH<SB>2</SB>F) of a transfer agent, a radical initiator and a dispersant as an optional ingredient.
