PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface-treated indium powder which does not aggregate even at a dry state or after being compounded to a heat radiation composition, thereby a heat radiation member having a stable heat radiation property and the like are obtained therefrom. SOLUTION: The indium powder is prepared by being surface-treated with an organosilane expressed by formula (1): R<SP>1</SP><SB>a</SB>R<SP>2</SP><SB>b</SB>Si(OR<SP>3</SP>)<SB>4-a-b</SB>or its partial hydrolysis condensate (in the formula R<SP>1</SP>is at most a 15C alkyl group; R<SP>2</SP>is a 1-8C monovalent hydrocarbon group; R<SP>3</SP>is independently a 1-6C hydrocarbon group; a is an integer of 1-3; b is 0, 1 or 2; and a+b is an integer of 1-3).
