The loop (10) comprises two sections connected to the fastener section (14) of the loop used to secure the latter to a stick and the free ends of these sections can be releasably joined together in order for the loop to be formed. The outer loop section (16) extending along the back of the hand extends from the fastener section in the direction of the ball of the thumb. The inner loop section (18) extending along the inside of the hand extends from the fastener section and around at least part of the ball of the thumb, where it is held in position by the outer loop section. The fastener section is secured to the stick in between the thumb and index finger. A thumb hole (22) is provided in the fastener section.
