REFRIGERATOR WITH ANTIBACTERIAL AND DEODORIZING FUNCTIONS

PURPOSE: A refrigerator with antibacterial and deodorizing functions is provided to execute the antibacterial and deodorizing functions by low power consumption. CONSTITUTION: A refrigerator(11) with antibacterial and deodorizing functions comprises ultraviolet LEDs(Light Emitting Diodes)(1) installed in the refrigerator, to irradiate ultraviolet rays to the inside of the refrigerator; a controller electrically connected to the ultraviolet LEDs, to control the ultraviolet LEDs; a photocatalyst(13) of a thin film spread or adhered on/to the whole or a part of the inside of the refrigerator, to produce OH radical; and a switching unit(3) sensing the closing of a door(11a) and transmitting a signal to the controller, to make the ultraviolet LEDs operate only when the door is closed.
