<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain the acceleration of a processing speed for an image forming apparatus having a function for collecting manuscripts mixed with black-and-white manuscripts and color manuscripts into a sheet of recording paper and then copying. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus comprises an image input means for reading image data of a manuscript, a color processing means for generating color data from the image data, a black-and-white processing means for generating black-and-white data from the image data, a manuscript determining means for determining a manuscript type of the manuscript based on the image data, a storage control means for storing either of the color data or the black-and-white data according to the determination result by the manuscript determining means, a manuscript collecting means for collecting data corresponding to the manuscript stored by the storage control means into one sheet of recording paper, and a data unifying means for unifying the collected data by the manuscript collecting means into either color data or black-and-white data according to the presence or absence of a color manuscript in the determination by the manuscript determining means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
