<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user with information by assuming the information that the user desires. <P>SOLUTION: An access history means 4 manages the degree of interest in each classification for every user. A user identification determining means determines the user and receives a specification of information to use. An interest information selecting means 5 reads the specified information from an information source 6 and displays it on a monitor 8 via an editing means. A by-user access information classifying means 3 determines a classification the specified information belongs to, and transmits the determined classification and the determined user to an access history managing means. The access history means 4 increases the degree of interest of the determined user in the transmitted classification. Then, when the interest information inputting means receives the specification of an automatic mode, the access history means 4 transmits the classification in which the degree of the user's interest is set highest to the interest information selecting means 5.
