PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image editing system capable of independently defining the visible manner of a masking object in a simple operation according to the kind of an output means, the property of a document, the access right of the document or the like, a program for the image editing system, and a storage medium recording the program. SOLUTION: A plurality of masking objects are arranged in an optional position in an image, and the visible manner of the masking objects is defined to be a transmitting color to a display and to be a marking-out color to a printer. It is also defined to be a marking-out color when the property of the document is "under editing", and to be free from marking-out when the property of the document is "completed". Further, it is defined to a transmitting color when the access right is "fully controlled", and to be a marking-out color when the access right is "not permitted to refer to a masking part".
