PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system for a conference, in which a master set can receive command signals correctly by avoiding collision between the command signals at the time of retry transmission of the command signals, and avoiding collision between the signals when they are transmitted by retry, in transmitting the command signals simultaneously from a plurality of slave sets. SOLUTION: The communication system for a conference consists of one master set and the plurality of slave sets, and has one data transmission/reception channel for commands as a transmission/reception channel for a plurality of voice signal transmission/reception channels to which a predetermined frequency band is assigned. The slave sets share the one data transmission/reception channel to each transmit a predetermined command signal to the master set and sends their own request. In this system, for example, when a slave set 20a and a slave set 20b transmit command signals simultaneously and the master set cannot receive the signals, in automatically retransmitting the command signals (retry transmission) from each of the slave sets 20a and 20b with predetermined waiting times, the waiting time ta of the slave set 20a is set so as to be different from the waiting time tb of the slave set 20b.
