PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tag configuration allowing easy definition of a tag except a normally prepared basic tag and allowing tag execution even in intelligent field equipment, and to provide a plant control system operating dependently on the tag configuration. SOLUTION: This plant control system has: a configurator 5 including a tag definition part 51, a database part 52 and a tag download part 53; an operation monitoring station 4 including a tag operation part 41; a controller 1 including a controlling bus control part 11, a tag information branch part 12, a first tag execution part 13, a tag memory 14 and a field equipment control part 15; and the intelligent field equipment 3 including a second tag execution part 31.
