PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of melt spinning of a moisture-absorbing polyamide fiber containing a polyvinylpyrrolidone by which the operability of the spinning is improved especially from the points of the inhibition of the thermal decomposition of the polyvinylpyrrolidone at the melt spinning, and the inhibition of the production of a low grade polymer such as a monomer and an oligomer. SOLUTION: The moisture-absorbing polyamide fiber is obtained by adding 1-15 g polyvinylpyrrolidone to 100 g polyamide, and contains 0.01-0.2 g hindered phenol-based antioxidant and 0.2-5 mmol magnesium compound based on 100 g polyamide.
