PROCESS FOR PREPARATION OF CATALYST FOR alpha-OLEFIN POLYMERIZATION AND alpha-OLEFIN POLYMER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst forα-olefin polymerization with sufficiently high catalytic activity and stereoregularity without requiring removal of residual catalyst or amorphous polymer and to provide a process for preparation ofα-olefin polymers with high quality and stereoregularity. SOLUTION: The catalyst forα-olefin polymerization is composed of a tetravalent titanium containing solid catalyst component prepared by treatment of a magnesium compound having a Mg-O bond with a titanium halide, an organoaluminum compound and an organosilicone compound of the general formula: R4R5Si(OR6)2(wherein R4and R5are the same or different hydrocarbon groups with a 5C alicyclic hydrocarbon skeleton as a basic skeleton and R6is a 1-10C hydrocarbon group).
