摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copper alloy combining various characteristics required to the material for electrical/electronic parts such as a connector, i.e., excellent in strength, electroconductivity, stress relaxation resistance, a Young's modulus, press formability, hot workability and the cost, and to provide a production method therefor. SOLUTION: B oxide with a grain size of≤5μm is incorporated into a copper alloy material comprising, by weight, 20 to 46% Zn, 0.1 to 5.0% Sn and 0.001 to 0.5% B, and the balance Cu with inevitable impurities, so that the copper alloy for a connector having excellent hot workability by the refining of cast crystal grains and the effect of promoting dynamic recrystallization, and in which, in an elongating direction, 0.2% proof stress is≥600 N/mm<SP>2</SP>, tensile strength is≥650 N/mm<SP>2</SP>, a Young's modulus is≤120 kN/mm<SP>2</SP>, electrical conductivity is≥20% IACS, and stress relaxation ratio is≤20%, and, in a direction perpendicular to the elongating direction, 0.2% proof stress is≥650 N/mm<SP>2</SP>, tensile strength is≥700 N/mm<SP>2</SP>, and Young's modulus is≤130 kN/mm<SP>2</SP>is obtained.
