The invention relates to an injection device for the injection of liquid for medical use. The invention is of the type that consists in: using a flexible pouch (18) containing the medical liquid (19) that is to be injected, said pouch being impervious and comprising at least one outlet conduit (17) which is connected to an injection conduit (3) such as a catheter or a hypodermic, intravenous or other type of needle; and deforming the flexible pouch (18) using an inert functional liquid (22) which is contained in a tank and which is pressurised such that said pressure is transmitted to the medical liquid that is to be injected in order to force said medical liquid to flow into the outlet conduit, by placing the pouch in the inner chamber of a case (20) comprising the inert functional liquid (22) and, subsequently, pressurising said functional liquid. The invention is characterised in that the means (23) for pressurising the functional liquid (22) are controlled by a volumetric piston pump which is driven by an electric motor.
