The invention relates to semi-crystalline, thermoplastically processible, semi-aromatic copolyamides which can be produced by condensing at least the following monomers or the precondensates thereof: a) terephthalic acid, b) at least one dimerised fatty acid containing up to 44 carbon atoms, and c) at least one aliphatic diamine of formula H2N- (CH2) X-NH2 wherein x represents a whole figure between 4 and 18.
