The decorative bar (1), for use as an automobile trim, has a translucent core (2) and a decorative paper bonded to its whole surface by an adhesive (3). Before setting, the adhesive has a sufficiently low viscosity to penetrate into the paper on its side towards the core. When set and hardened, the adhesive forms a stabilizing layer (8) at the paper. Before setting, the adhesive has a viscosity of =5000 mPas at 20[deg]C, and preferably about 2000 mPas. At least one paper layer (6), near the surface, is impregnated with a synthetic resin. The decorative printing (5) is on only one side of the paper.
