SAFETY DEVICE FOR ELEVATOR INCLUDING TRIGGER MECHANISM HAVING HOLDING MEMBER AND SPRING MEMBER

PURPOSE: A safety device for an elevator is provided to achieve improved safety of passengers by preventing a safety brake from operating again after braking test started by a limiter cable. CONSTITUTION: A safety device comprises an elevator car and a balancing weight which are movable in an elevator path; and a speed limiter for monitoring speed of the elevator car and the balancing weight. The speed limiter operates a trigger mechanism(25) which stops the elevator car or the balancing weight in case of excessive speed. The trigger mechanism includes a holding element(29) for restricting a pin(27) mounted in a first double lever(14); and a spring element(31) connected to the first double lever of a second double lever(14.1). The first and second double levers are fixed when the holding element normally operates. The spring element operates the first and second double levers after operation of the trigger mechanism by the speed limiter.
